Two years

Now that my second year of college is really complete and I'll be headed home for the summer in about 40 hours I thought I'd take a look back.

Two years ago:
I was getting ready for graduation and couldn't begin to imagine ever leaving Flint and moving on with my life. College was something that was bound to happen, but I refused to think about it and I knew that I'd hate Marquette and wait with bated breath to come back home.

One year ago:

I was home for the summer after my first year of college. I didn't hate Marquette, but I would much rather be back in Flint. Most of my time at college was spent talking about home. I had a couple of close friends, but other than that I pretty much avoided people knowing that no one could live up to my Flint friends.

Today:

I have a steady job and an apartment in Marquette. Over the course of the school year I was involved in two shows that have changed my life. I have a bunch of amazing friends and at least five very close ones. Leaving to go home in a couple of days seems a bit of a tragedy since I know I'll be there for too long. The Andrew relationship seems a thing of the past and I am so ready to move on to new things. I have an amazing roomate and I am loving my North Pole life a whole bunch.

I'm thinking that's a bit of a change.

The Burrow

So I made this video to show you all my apartment and my roomate (who totally beat Leah Blakemore as Miss Teen Michigan USA).

It's kind of lame and I look like death...but at least it'll show you things.

Life.

Right now I am sitting on my futon (God, I hate futons...but it's my only bed option right now) and looking out the window hoping that it is nice outside. The sky isn't really telling my anything. Yesterday it didn't get above 40 degrees and that was lametastic.

Anywhoo...I'm sitting in my apartment stealing internet from the complex across the street and that's pretty cool except for the unreliability. I dunno, we're going to get wireless when I come back in the fall and that should be good.

The Burrow is a pretty great place to live. My roomate (Miss Teen Michigan USA) is awesome and likes to clean a lot when I'm asleep. I do my best...but she always manages to find strange things to clean that I wouldn't have thought about. I do all of the dishes and cook, though, so maybe that makes up for it? I don't make messes that I don't clean up.

Hair closes on Saturday. That should be depressing and happy at the same time. I'll be really sad to leave all of the amazing people that I love...but I'm really over doing the show. Last night we opened again after a three day break and 2/3 of the cast was plagued. Seth didn't even go onstage for more than was absolutely necessary. That, of course, was the night that they decided to film. I hope we're better tonight. I also get to shave on Saturday night which should be incredible. Two months of not shaving anything is a little excessive and disgusting.

I head back to Flint Town on Wednesday. The closer it comes, the less excited I become. I can't wait to see my cats, my friends, and my piano...but really, I don't want to spend all summer there. This is where my life is now and I only have four...maaaybe five or six friends back home. Sure, it'll be nice to see them, but after a week or two I'll want to get the hell out and come back. That's about all that's going on in my life right now. Perhaps something interesting will happen semi-soon for me to blog about?
